On this Planet II

To be a man on this planet, more often than not, is to be born into the illusion of superiority. It is to be blinded by the existence of organs or a lack thereof to determine a social stance.

To be a man on this planet, is to carry that burden of superiority, assuming all responsibility, declining all accountability. For, to be a man on this planet, is to be a man. Anything goes here.

To be a man on this planet, is to walk without the fear of vulgarity being thrown your way. It is to feel safe, secure and untouchable. To be a man on this planet, is to assume all power- usurped by the violent clawing of sacred, intimate, malleable soul. It is to walk openly with that threat, and then move ahead adorning the shield of chivalry, waving the flag and promise of safety.

To be a man on this planet, is to fail to realise that you are the hunter. You the violence, you the darkness you save us from.

To be a man, on this planet, is to arrogate the right over a woman’s body. It is to use the burden of a couple of hanging sacks to stare, gape, ogle, hawk, eyeball, harass, humiliate, violate, call it what you will; at the end of the day, to be a man on this planet, is to kipe the very freedom that she too was born in. It is to bully her into submission. Break her into giving in and maul her into running away.

Being a man in this planet, lets you make the dark a frightful time, make the day a humiliating time, make the office space a clash of egos, make the home a throne. Being a man here, lets you make the buses, taxis, pubs, hotels, roads, streets, corners, crowded places, empty places and even the safety of my own vehicle, just not safe enough.

To be a man on this planet, is to feel the beauty of just being. And maybe… Centuries of this madness doesn’t let you realise the extent of your violations. But a time is coming and its coming fast. When you won’t be better than. You’ll begin to climb over your sham and try to fathom the reality and let me warn you, it will be a bit much for you to take. Because the truth is, that you are just as capable, just as driven, just as fragile and more. The truth is, that you are just as much. A time is fast coming when your ridiculous notions won’t get you too far.

So go on laugh, bully, hurt, steal, violate. I’m sure you like what you see in the mirror. But you know what? If your ideas of masculinity branch out from your physical bulge- you’ve got another think coming.
